The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Education

Artificial intelligence gives machines the ability to respond as humans do, understanding events, learning from them, and reacting to them as an intelligent human would.

The range of applicability in AI has widely expanded in the last three decades, from simple CCTV cameras to parking systems that require no human intervention and self-directed drones used by the military. It is, therefore, a wonder that AI applications in the education sector remain at an all-time low.

However, the future is bright, and there will be many new roles for AI to play in “developed” classrooms one day.

This is especially true with artificial neural networks making it possible for robots to perform tasks through simple observation without having to program them. This will ensure that they are expandable and make their use limitless in a school setting.

Here are some ways artificial intelligence can be put to good use in the classroom.

Personalized learning: In the future, each child may have a personal robot throughout their school system, if not their entire lives, to act as a personal assistant. The robot will carry all the information taught to the child, making it a personal tutor whenever required. A closer relationship will ensure pupils have a better grasp of all that is being taught. This continuous integration will surely skyrocket learning.

Teachers assistants: Most teachers are overloaded with work that goes beyond just teaching students. But certain tasks, such as some grading, could be done by robots. Taking a portion of this burden from teachers could not only simplify their tasks, but also give them a better time while dealing with students and their personal lives.

Teaching the teachers: With AI, comprehensive information can be accessed at any time of day. Teachers could use this easily obtainable knowledge to continue their own education as well as their students’, including learning foreign languages and complex programming techniques.

Elevating connections: Because AI operates on a computer system, it would be possible to connect different classes around the globe, enhancing cooperation among schools and nations in general.

Adapting with a changing world: AI helps people capture occurrences around the world as they happen, so students will be able to experience current events in real time. Whatever changes need to be incorporated into the syllabus also will be able to be made efficiently with constant updates.

Lifelong learning: If each student gets to keep their own personal AI-powered robot, they’ll always have a teacher to simplify tasks for them. Google will be a thing of the past as students get knowledge from their robots.

In this future situation, it will be important to be watchful of the level of freedom we give to robots. Some would advise you to be careful what you wish for! But as AI looks like it will be the inevitable way for the future, we can look forward to enhancing education and getting personalized learning experiences.
